On Wednesday, February 15th, Go Gaelic were invited to the University of Limerick campus to offer their introductory gaelic games course to a selection of students from their International Department. 25 students from countries as diverse as Spain, France, Poland, Canada, Japan, Czech Republic and the United States took part in the two hour session that proved to be a memorable occasion for both students and mentors alike
For many, it was their first exposure to Gaelic Games and they thoroughly enjoyed the evening. In fact, such was the high standard of skills on show that a few, with a little more preparation, could easily play with teams here in Ireland such was their athleticism.
Their enjoyment of hurling in particular was encouraging as they were eager to experience more about the game and so just over a week later, the Go Gaelic team organised complimentary tickets for six of the group to attend the National League Division 1B Round 1 clash between neighbours Limerick and Clare and witness the game of hurling played at a high tempo for themselves.
Go Gaelic would like to thank the international office for their help and co-operation with this event.
